Checking the presence of assembled components
During production, there were situations where operators skipped steps involving the insertion of additional components into the assembled part. Despite this, such parts were still labeled as inspected and defect-free.
By introducing a simple inspection station, this issue was effectively eliminated. Preventing the bypassing of inspection was achieved through an algorithm in the program, which made it impossible to print another label without first removing the parts. The same principle applied to defective pieces, where the inspection had to be repeated until all components were correctly inserted. These components can be inserted directly into fixtures that hold the parts in place using vacuum suction.
Checker COGNEX 4G and camera Omron FQ2
The inspection was carried out using a Cognex Checker 4G and was later expanded to include three additional stations equipped with Omron FQ2 cameras. These were connected to the S7-1200 control system via the Profinet network. The inspection was triggered each time a button was pressed.
